Dumbbell One-Arm Fly on Stability Ball

The dumbbell fly with one arm, upper back on a ball and hips up; the lone bell pulls the body sideways, and the trunk refuses.

How to do it

Setup

Upper back on the ball, hips level, one bell over the chest, palm facing in.

Steps

  1. Open the arm out to the side until the chest stretches.
  2. Keep the hips level against the pull.
  3. Sweep the bell back over the chest; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

The hip on the free side dropping: squeeze both glutes. Bending the elbow on the way down: keep the soft angle. Opening below shoulder level: the shoulder takes it; stop there.
