Dumbbell Incline One-Arm Hammer Press on Stability Ball

One bell pressed palm-in from a low incline on a stability ball; the trunk keeps the ball from rolling toward the weight.

How to do it

Setup

Upper back on the ball, hips low, one bell at the shoulder palm-in, free hand on the belly.

Steps

  1. Press the bell straight up, palm facing in, until the arm locks.
  2. Keep both shoulders level on the ball.
  3. Lower to the shoulder; finish the set, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Rolling toward the working side: brace the trunk and keep the shoulders level. Palm turning forward at lockout: the hammer grip stays from start to finish. Elbow flaring on the way down: bring it back along the ribs.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
