Dumbbell Palms-In Incline Bench Press

The incline dumbbell press with the palms facing each other; the neutral grip tucks the elbows and spares the shoulders.

How to do it

Setup

Bench at 30–45°, bells at the shoulders, palms facing each other.

Steps

  1. Press both bells up over the upper chest, palms still facing.
  2. Keep the palms facing each other all the way.
  3. Lower to the shoulders with the elbows tucked.

Common mistakes

Palms turning forward mid-press: the neutral grip is the variant; hold it. Elbows flaring out: they track close to the ribs. Bells knocking together at the top: stop just short.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
