Dumbbell Front Plank Arm Raise

A high plank on two dumbbells in which one arm at a time lifts its bell straight forward to shoulder height and sets it back.

How to do it

Setup

High plank with the hands on two dumbbells under the shoulders, feet wider than the hips.

Steps

  1. Lift one bell straight forward to shoulder height.
  2. Hold the hips level on the other hand.
  3. Set it down and lift the other bell.

Common mistakes

Hips rolling toward the lifting arm: widen the feet and brace. Bell swinging up past the shoulder: stop at shoulder height. Supporting bell tipping: press down through the middle of the handle.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
