Crawl to Crab
From a bear crawl stance, turn the hips through to face up in a crab, then turn back; alternate the side you turn to.
How to do it
Setup
Hands under the shoulders, knees hovering just off the floor, back flat.
Steps
- Lift one hand and turn the hips through to sit into a crab, facing up.
- Plant that hand behind you and lift the hips.
- Turn back to the crawl and repeat to the other side.
Common mistakes
Dropping onto the hip in the turn: keep the hips lifted as you rotate. Planting the hand far behind: place it under the shoulder line. Rushing the turn: move smoothly, one hand at a time.
Breathing
Exhale turning into the crab, inhale turning back.
