Climbing, illustrated

Climbing

Indoor or outdoor climbing, logged by time; grip and back take most of it.

How to do it

Setup

Climbing shoes, chalk, a wall and grades you know.

Steps

  1. Climb with the LEGS pushing, arms mostly straight.
  2. Plan a few moves ahead; rest on straight arms.
  3. Log the session by time.

Common mistakes

Pulling everything with bent arms: the forearms die in minutes; push with the feet. Hugging the wall face-on always: turn the hips; sideways reaches further. Skipping rests: shaking out on straight arms is technique, not weakness.

Breathing

Steady; exhale on hard moves.
