Chest Dip on Straight Bar
The dip on a single straight bar in front of the body instead of two bars; the hips fold and the chest leans far over the bar.
How to do it
Setup
Hands on the bar a little wider than the shoulders, palms down, arms locked, the bar at the hips.
Steps
- Lean the chest forward over the bar as the elbows bend.
- Let the hips fold and the legs drift back to balance.
- Press back up until the arms lock with the bar at the hips.
Common mistakes
Staying upright: the bar is in front, so the chest must lean over it. Dropping below the bar too fast: lower under control. Elbows flaring straight out: keep them at about 45°.
Breathing
Inhale lowering, exhale pressing.
