Cat Pose
On all fours, round the whole back up toward the ceiling and let the head drop; the rounding half of Cat-Cow, held on its own.
How to do it
Setup
Kneeling on all fours, wrists below the shoulders, knees below the hips, spine neutral.
Steps
- Push the floor away and round the back up, starting from the tailbone.
- Let the head hang and draw the navel toward the spine.
- Hold and breathe, then return to a flat back.
Common mistakes
Rounding only the upper back: let the lower back and the tailbone curl too. Arms bending as the back rounds: keep them straight and press the floor away. Neck held stiff: let the head hang heavy and loose.
Breathing
Exhale into the rounding, then breathe evenly in the hold.
