Cable Standing Wrist Reverse Curl

The standing palms-down wrist curl with a straight bar on a low pulley; the cable keeps the back of the forearm working from the very start.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the low pulley, overhand grip on the bar, arms long, bar in front of the thighs.

Steps

  1. Tip the knuckles up and lift the bar with the wrists.
  2. Hold the top briefly, arms straight.
  3. Let the wrists bend down until the bar hangs below them.

Common mistakes

Using the palms-up load: the extensors need far less; lighten the stack. Arms drifting toward the pulley: pin the elbows at the sides. Wrists bending sideways: lift straight up over the forearm.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
