Cable Standing Biceps Curl (With Rope)

A rope curl from a high pulley: facing the stack in a split stance with the arms reaching up toward it, curl the rope ends toward the forehead.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a high pulley with a rope, split stance, arms extended up and forward toward it, palms facing each other.

Steps

  1. Curl the rope ends toward the forehead, upper arms still.
  2. Squeeze with the hands beside the head.
  3. Extend the arms back toward the pulley under control.

Common mistakes

Pulling the rope down to the chest: that is a pulldown; the upper arms stay raised. Leaning back as the stack rises: hold the split stance and a tall torso. Elbows drifting apart and down: keep them pointing at the pulley.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale extending.
