Barbell Wide-Grip Drag Curl
The barbell drag curl with the hands outside the shoulders; the bar still slides up the torso while the elbows travel back.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, bar at the thighs, underhand grip a hand's width outside the shoulders.
Steps
- Drag the bar up the torso, elbows moving back.
- Stop at the lower chest.
- Lower along the body to straight arms.
Common mistakes
Grip so wide the wrists bend back: a hand outside the shoulders is enough. Bar leaving the body: keep it brushing the torso. Elbows swinging forward at the top: they stay behind the torso.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
