Cable Single-Arm Bear Fly

In a bear hold facing a mid-height pulley, one straight arm sweeps the handle from out in front down to under the shoulder.

How to do it

Setup

Bear position facing the tower, knees just off the floor, one hand on the floor, the other holding the handle out in front.

Steps

  1. Sweep the handle down to the floor under the shoulder, the arm long.
  2. Keep the hips level and the knees hovering.
  3. Let the arm travel back out in front under control.

Common mistakes

Hips twisting toward the working arm: brace so the body stays square to the floor. Bending the elbow to row the handle in: the arm stays long; the shoulder does the work. Knees dropping to the floor: keep them hovering for the whole set.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the return.
