Cable Lying Single-Arm Cross Lateral Raise
The one-arm lying cross cable lateral raise on the floor: the free hand rests on the chest, and the floor stops the working arm out at the side.
How to do it
Setup
Face up on the floor, feet toward the pulleys, one hand on the cable from the opposite side, the free hand on the chest.
Steps
- Sweep the working arm out to the side until the hand nears the floor.
- Pause for a beat with the arm out to the side.
- Return the hand across the body; switch arms after the set.
Common mistakes
Rolling toward the cable as it pulls: press the shoulder blades flat to the floor. Resting the hand on the floor: stop just above it. Rushing the return across the body: let the cable in slowly.
Breathing
Exhale opening the arm, inhale returning.
