Cable Cross-Over Lateral Pulldown

The pulldown standing in a crossover, each hand holding the opposite high cable so the lines cross overhead; the handles finish beside the shoulders.

How to do it

Setup

Standing midway between the high pulleys, feet hip-width, hands crossed overhead on the opposite handles.

Steps

  1. Pull the handles down and apart to the sides of the shoulders.
  2. Squeeze the elbows toward the ribs at the bottom.
  3. Let the arms rise and cross again overhead with control.

Common mistakes

Leaning back to move the stacks: stand tall with lighter stacks. Stopping above the shoulders: the handles finish beside them. Cables snapping the arms up: control the whole way back to the cross.

Breathing

Exhale pulling down, inhale returning.
