Band Alternate Lat Pulldown with Twist
Facing a high band anchor, pull one end down and back while the torso turns toward that side, then the other; the twist adds the obliques to the pull.
How to do it
Setup
Standing facing a high band anchor, feet hip-width, one end of the band in each hand, arms reaching up and forward.
Steps
- Pull one hand down to the side of the chest, turning the torso toward it.
- Return that arm up as the other pulls and the torso turns the other way.
- Keep the hips facing the anchor and alternate at a steady pace.
Common mistakes
Hips swinging with the shoulders: the turn happens above the waist. Yanking the band: smooth pulls and controlled returns. Pulling with the arm alone: start each pull by drawing the blade down.
Breathing
Exhale on each pull, inhale on the return.
