Bottle Weighted Shoulder Press
The seated overhead press with a large water bottle in each hand, held by its handle; a home load for the plain press.
How to do it
Setup
Seated tall on a box or a bench, a bottle in each hand by the handle, held at the shoulders.
Steps
- Press both bottles overhead until the arms are straight.
- Keep the bottles level so the water does not swing.
- Lower them back to the shoulders under control.
Common mistakes
Bottles tipping as they rise: grip the handles firmly and press straight up. Leaning back to finish: sit tall with the ribs down. Dropping the bottles to the shoulders: lower as slowly as you press.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
