Bottle Weighted Rear Lunge

The reverse lunge holding a large water bottle at each side; the bottles hang like dumbbells, so the same form rules apply.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, feet hip-width, a bottle hanging at each side by its handle.

Steps

  1. Take a long step back and sink straight down.
  2. Let the bottles hang still beside the hips.
  3. Push through the front foot back to standing; alternate legs.

Common mistakes

Bottles swinging on the step: slow the step and let them hang. Leaning forward over the front knee: keep the chest up. Pushing off the back toes: the front leg stands you up.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale driving up.
