Bodyweight Narrow Stance Squat

The bodyweight squat with the feet close together, the hands clasped at the chest; the narrow stance asks for more ankle and knee bend.

How to do it

Setup

Feet close together, toes forward, hands clasped at the chest.

Steps

  1. Sit straight down, the knees moving forward over the toes.
  2. Keep the heels flat and the chest up.
  3. Stand tall again, heels flat.

Common mistakes

Heels coming up at depth: go only as deep as they stay down. Rounding forward to balance: hands at the chest, chest tall. Knees pressing into each other: keep a gap between them.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
