Bodyweight Wall Squat
Squat with the back sliding down a wall to parallel and back up, for reps; unlike the wall sit, you do not stop at the bottom.
How to do it
Setup
Back flat against a wall, feet a step out in front, hip-width, arms crossed at the chest.
Steps
- Slide down the wall until the thighs are parallel to the floor.
- Keep the whole back and the head against the wall.
- Press through the heels to slide back up.
Common mistakes
Feet too close to the wall: the knees jut past the toes; step them out. Pushing on the thighs with the hands: arms stay crossed. Stopping above parallel: the full slide is the rep.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
