Bodyweight Front Plank to Downward Dog
Move from a high plank into downward dog and back, pressing the hips up and back, then lowering them into the plank line.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands shoulder-width, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Press the floor away and lift the hips up and back into an inverted V.
- Let the heels sink toward the floor.
- Lower the hips back to the plank, shoulders over the hands.
Common mistakes
Rounding the back in the V: the line from hands to hips stays long. Sagging into the plank on the way down: stop in a straight line. Hands creeping back toward the feet: keep them planted in place.
Breathing
Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering to the plank.
