Battling Ropes Seated

Rope waves sitting on the floor with the legs out in front; the trunk has to hold itself up while the arms drive.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor facing the anchor, legs out in front, knees soft, a rope end in each hand, chest tall.

Steps

  1. Drive quick waves with both arms, together or in turn.
  2. Keep the chest up and the lower back from rounding.
  3. Rest between rounds and keep each round short.

Common mistakes

Slumping onto the tailbone: sit tall on the sit bones. Shrugging the shoulders to the ears: shoulders down, arms long. Heels lifting as you tire: keep the legs quiet on the floor.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
