Battling Ropes Alternating Waves with Kneeling Get-Up

Alternating rope waves kept going while the body lowers to one knee and stands back up; the arms never stop as the legs change level.

How to do it

Setup

Half squat facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand, the ropes with a little slack.

Steps

  1. Drive alternating waves, one arm up as the other goes down.
  2. Step one foot back and lower that knee to the floor without breaking the waves.
  3. Stand back up through the front foot, arms still waving; repeat.

Common mistakes

Waves stalling during the get-up: the arms keep the rhythm while the legs move. Knee dropping hard onto the floor: lower it under control. Leaning on the ropes to stand: the legs stand you up; the ropes keep waving.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
