Battling Ropes Half-Kneeling

Rope waves from a half-kneeling stance; with the legs out of the drive, the shoulders and trunk make every wave.

How to do it

Setup

Half-kneeling facing the anchor, front shin vertical, a rope end in each hand, trunk upright.

Steps

  1. Drive quick waves with both arms, together or in turn.
  2. Keep the torso tall and still over the kneeling hip.
  3. Switch the front leg between rounds.

Common mistakes

Rocking the torso to make the waves: the shoulders work, the trunk stays still. Kneeling on a bare hard floor: pad the knee. Waves dying before the anchor: smaller and faster beats slow and big.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
