Battling Ropes Jumping Jack
The jumping jack holding a rope end in each hand: the arms whip the ropes out and up as the feet jump wide, and bring them back as the feet close.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand at the hips, feet together, knees soft.
Steps
- Jump the feet wide as the arms sweep the ropes out and up.
- Jump the feet together as the arms bring the ropes back down.
- Keep a steady rhythm and log the time.
Common mistakes
Arms and feet out of time: they open and close together. Landing flat and heavy: bounce on the balls of the feet. Standing too close to the anchor: step back until the ropes keep a little slack.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
