Barbell Standing Wrist Reverse Curl
The palms-down wrist curl standing, the bar hanging in an overhand grip in front of the thighs; a short, strict lift for the back of the forearm.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, overhand grip at hip width, bar resting against the thighs, arms straight.
Steps
- Lift the backs of the hands, raising the bar off the thighs.
- Keep the arms straight; the wrists are the only joints moving.
- Lower back to the thighs under control.
Common mistakes
Bar too heavy to move with the wrists alone: use far less than for the palms-up curl. Elbows bending: the lift turns into a reverse curl; lock them. Leaning back to help: stand tall.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
