Bar Band Squat

A squat against two bands anchored under the feet and fixed to a stick across the back; the pull builds toward the top.

How to do it

Setup

Stick on the upper back, a band loop under each foot, feet shoulder-width.

Steps

  1. Sit down and back to parallel or below.
  2. Keep the stick pressed to the upper back.
  3. Stand tall, pushing the bands to full stretch.

Common mistakes

Stick riding up onto the neck: keep it on the upper back. Loops sliding off the feet: seat them under the arches. Stopping short of lockout: stand fully against the bands.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
