Band Horizontal Biceps Curl

Facing a band anchored at shoulder height, curl the handles toward the forehead with the upper arms held level in front.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the anchor at shoulder height, arms straight out in front, palms up, knees soft.

Steps

  1. Curl the handles toward the forehead, upper arms level.
  2. Keep the elbows at shoulder height through the whole rep.
  3. Straighten the arms slowly back toward the anchor.

Common mistakes

Elbows dropping as the hands come in: the curl turns into a row; keep them level. Leaning back to add pull: stand tall and step closer to the anchor. Snapping back to straight arms: control the return against the band.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale extending.
