Band Hip Flexion

Standing with a band looped around one ankle and anchored low behind you, drive the knee up to hip height against it; the hip flexors do the lifting.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall with a hand on a support, the band from a low anchor behind you looped around one ankle.

Steps

  1. Drive the knee up until the thigh is level with the hip.
  2. Hold it there for a beat, torso tall.
  3. Lower the foot slowly against the band; finish the leg, switch.

Common mistakes

Leaning back to lift the knee higher: the torso stays upright; height comes from the hip. Letting the band yank the leg down: the return is slow. Standing too close to the anchor: step out until the band pulls at the start.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
