Band Biceps Curl

Standing on the middle of a band with handles, curl both handles to the shoulders; the band pulls hardest at the top, where a dumbbell goes light.

How to do it

Setup

Both feet on the band's middle, hip-width, a handle in each hand at the thighs, palms forward.

Steps

  1. Curl both handles to the shoulders, elbows fixed at the sides.
  2. Hold the top, where the band is tightest, for a beat.
  3. Lower slowly against the band to straight arms.

Common mistakes

Band sliding toward the toes: keep it under the middle of the feet. Elbows pulled forward by the band at the top: pin them to the ribs. Letting the band snap the arms down: the way down is half the rep, so control it.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
