Band Bent-Over Rear Lateral Raise

Hinged over inside a rack, two bands anchored at its bottom corners and crossed in front, the arms open out to the sides; the bands bite hardest at the top.

How to do it

Setup

Standing in a rack, two bands anchored at its bottom corners and crossed in front, each hand holding the band from the opposite corner, hinged forward.

Steps

  1. Open both arms out to the sides, arms long.
  2. Keep the hinge and the neck long.
  3. Lower slowly, the bands crossing back in front.

Common mistakes

Standing up as the bands tighten: hold the hinge, lighter bands. Bending the elbows to finish: long arms open the bands. Letting them snap back: resist all the way down.

Breathing

Exhale opening the arms, inhale lowering.
