Cable Bent-Over One-Arm Lateral Raise

Hinged over by a low pulley, one arm opens out to the side; the cable keeps the rear delt loaded at the bottom.

How to do it

Setup

Hinged near parallel beside a low pulley, handle in the far hand.

Steps

  1. Open the arm out and up to shoulder line.
  2. Keep the hinge and the chest still.
  3. Return under the body with the cable still loaded.

Common mistakes

Torso rotating open with the arm: the chest stays square to the floor. Standing up as the arm rises: hold the hinge. Elbow bending into a row: soft and fixed.

Breathing

Exhale opening, inhale returning.
