Balance Board Single Leg Balance
Standing on one leg on a balance board, the free leg bent behind and the arms out, the body holds the board level as it tips.
How to do it
Setup
One foot in the middle of a balance board, knee soft, the other leg bent behind, arms out to the sides.
Steps
- Find the board's level and fix the eyes on a point ahead.
- Correct each tip with the ankle and hip, not the arms alone.
- Hold for the set, step off, then switch legs.
Common mistakes
Locked standing knee: keep it soft to absorb the tips. Looking down at the board: eyes ahead steady the body. Starting away from a wall: stand within reach of a support until the balance holds.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
