Alternating Hammer Half Curl, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Neutral thumbs-up grip, bells at the sides, elbows pinned.

Steps

  1. Curl one bell to a right angle at the elbow.
  2. Lower fully to the hang.
  3. Alternate arms, torso quiet.

Common mistakes

Finishing to the shoulder: the stop at 90° is the point. Grip rotating: thumbs stay up. Elbow drifting forward: pinned to the side.

Breathing

Exhale on each curl, inhale lowering.
