Alternating Dumbbell Bottom-Half Curl, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Bells at the lower belly, palms up, elbows pinned.

Steps

  1. Curl one bell from full hang to a right angle only.
  2. Lower it fully before the other starts.
  3. Alternate, staying in the bottom half.

Common mistakes

Creeping above 90°: the bottom half IS the exercise. Cheating the full hang: the stretch end stays honest. Swinging: half range invites speed; refuse it.

Breathing

Exhale on each curl, inhale lowering.
