Cable Biceps Curl

Standing at the low pulley, curl the bar or handle to the shoulders; the cable keeps tension at the top where a barbell goes light.

Cable Biceps Curl, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Face a low pulley, straight or EZ attachment, elbows pinned to the sides.

Steps

  1. Curl the bar to the upper chest.
  2. Keep constant cable tension.
  3. Lower to straight arms without letting the stack rest.

Common mistakes

Stepping back and leaning: stand tall near the stack. Elbows floating forward: pin them; only forearms travel. Losing bottom tension: stop just before the stack touches.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
