Wrist Push-Up
A straight-arm plank on the backs of the hands; the shoulders rock forward past the wrists and back, bending them deeply under the body.
How to do it
Setup
On the knees or the toes, the backs of the hands on the floor under the shoulders, fingers pointing forward.
Steps
- Shift the shoulders forward past the hands, arms straight.
- Go only as far as the wrists allow without pain.
- Rock back until the forearms are vertical again.
Common mistakes
Starting on the toes with untrained wrists: begin on the knees and move to the toes later. Bending the elbows to go further: the arms stay straight; the wrists do the work. Pushing into pain: a sharp pain in the wrist ends the set.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
