Wide Stance Jump Squat to Narrow Stance Jump Squat

Jump squats that switch the stance in the air, landing wide, then narrow, then wide again; each landing changes the angle of the thighs.

How to do it

Setup

Wide stance, toes out, hands together at the chest.

Steps

  1. Squat in the wide stance and jump up.
  2. Land with the feet close together and squat again.
  3. Jump back out to the wide stance and keep alternating.

Common mistakes

Landing stiff-legged: bend the knees as the feet touch. Knees caving in the wide squat: push them out over the toes. Rushing into sloppy landings: slow the rhythm, stick each one.

Breathing

Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
