Kettlebell Banded Swing

The kettlebell swing with a band looped under the feet and around the bell, so the pull grows as the bell rises and snaps it back down.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on a looped band, its other end around the kettlebell, the bell hiked back between the legs.

Steps

  1. Snap the hips hard enough to stretch the band to chest height.
  2. Let the band pull the bell back down fast.
  3. Hinge to meet it and swing again.

Common mistakes

Band sliding out from under the feet: stand on it with both feet flat. Arms fighting the band at the top: the hips do the work. Standing tall too long: the band's fast return must meet a ready hinge.

Breathing

Sharp exhale on the hip snap, inhale on the backswing.
