Weighted Stone Standing Power Overhead Press
A round stone driven overhead from the chest with a dip of the knees; the legs start it and the arms lock it out, hands spread under the stone.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet hip-width, the stone held against the upper chest, hands spread under its sides.
Steps
- Dip the knees short and fast, torso upright.
- Drive up with the legs and press the stone to straight arms overhead.
- Lower it back to the chest with control.
Common mistakes
Stone drifting forward overhead: finish it over the shoulders, where it balances. Dropping it onto the chest: lower it, never let it fall. A stone too heavy to lock out: use one you can hold overhead on straight arms.
Breathing
Inhale at the dip, exhale on the drive.
