Twisting Crunch
The floor crunch that turns at the top, one shoulder toward the opposite knee, feet staying down; sides alternate.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, feet flat and hip-width, fingertips behind the ears, elbows open.
Steps
- Lift the shoulders and rotate the ribs toward one knee.
- The feet and hips stay planted.
- Come down through the middle and alternate.
Common mistakes
Twisting only the elbows: the shoulder must leave the floor and turn. Hips rocking to help: keep them planted. Racing side to side: finish each turn before the next.
Breathing
Exhale on each twist, inhale returning.
