TRX Hip Hinge
A hip hinge practiced holding the TRX handles: the arms reach forward along the straps as the hips go back, and the straps steady the balance.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the anchor, handles at the chest, straps taut, feet hip-width, knees soft.
Steps
- Push the hips back while the arms extend forward along the straps.
- Hinge until the torso is nearly level with the floor, back flat.
- Drive the hips forward and draw the handles back to the chest.
Common mistakes
Hanging on the straps: they balance you; the hips do the work. Squatting down instead of hinging back: the knees stay soft. Letting the lower back sag as the arms reach: brace the trunk through the whole range.
Breathing
Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
