Stick Shoulder Rotation Over Head
A stick held wide in front of the chest is lifted over the head and lowered behind it to the upper back, the elbows bending, then brought back.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, a stick held overhand wider than the shoulders, arms straight in front at chest height.
Steps
- Lift the stick up over the head.
- Bend the elbows to lower it behind the head toward the upper back.
- Press it back overhead and down to the front.
Common mistakes
Pushing the head forward to make room for the stick: keep it stacked over the spine and widen the grip. Arching the lower back as the stick goes behind: ribs down, glutes tight. Dropping the stick onto the neck: lower it slowly to the top of the shoulders.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
