Resistance Band Pass-Through

A shoulder mobility drill with a flat band held wide: straight arms carry it from the thighs over the head to behind the back and return, opening the chest and the fronts of the shoulders.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, a flat band held in front of the thighs, hands wide on it, arms straight.

Steps

  1. Lift the band overhead on straight arms, keeping it lightly stretched.
  2. Carry it on behind the body until the chest opens, the arms out to the sides.
  3. Bring it back over the head to the front on the same path.

Common mistakes

Arms folding at the elbows overhead: the grip is too narrow; move the hands out. Forcing the band behind the back: go only as far as the shoulders open without pain. Lower back arching as the band passes behind: tuck the ribs down and keep the hips under the shoulders.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
