Resistance Band Standing Shoulder Internal Rotation

A band looped round a rack post at waist height pulls the forearm out; the arm turns it back in across the belly, elbow pinned to the side.

How to do it

Setup

Side-on to the rack, the band round the near hand, elbow bent to 90° at the side, forearm pointing out toward the anchor.

Steps

  1. Turn the forearm in across the belly, the elbow staying against the ribs.
  2. Pause with the hand at the belly.
  3. Let the band draw the forearm back out slowly.

Common mistakes

Elbow drifting forward to help the turn: pin it to the ribs. Twisting the torso toward the belly hand: the chest faces forward. Letting the band snap the arm out: control the return.

Breathing

Exhale turning in, inhale returning.
