Standing Single-Leg Curl
Facing a wall with the hands on it, curl one heel toward the buttock with no load but the leg's own weight; a warm-up or a light finisher.
How to do it
Setup
Standing a step from a wall, hands on it at chest height, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Bend one knee, bringing the heel up behind you as high as it goes.
- Keep that thigh pointing straight down.
- Set the foot down softly and repeat; switch legs after the set.
Common mistakes
Hips pushing back toward the heel: stand tall and square to the wall. Swinging the leg: a slow curl works; a kick does not. Leaning on the wall with the whole body: the hands only balance.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
