Single-Leg Platform Slide

On the back with the legs long, drag one heel along the floor toward the buttock and slide it back out; a light, controlled knee bend.

How to do it

Setup

Face up on the floor, both legs straight, arms by the sides, the heel of the working leg on the floor.

Steps

  1. Drag the heel toward the buttock, pressing it into the floor.
  2. Stop when the knee is fully bent, foot flat.
  3. Slide the heel back out to a straight leg; finish the side, switch.

Common mistakes

Lifting the heel off the floor: it stays in contact the whole way. Arching the lower back as the knee comes up: keep it resting on the floor. Speeding through: a slow drag is the work.

Breathing

Easy and steady.
