Standing Forward Slide Press with Towel
Standing at a table-height box, both hands on a towel slide forward along its top until the arms are straight and come back; a light pressing slide for the chest and the front of the shoulders.
How to do it
Setup
Standing at a table-height box, both hands flat on a towel on its top, elbows bent by the sides.
Steps
- Slide the towel forward until the arms are straight, leaning in slightly.
- Keep the shoulders down, away from the ears.
- Slide back until the elbows are by the sides again.
Common mistakes
Shrugging as the arms reach: the shoulders stay low. Leaning the whole body onto the hands: press lightly; the arms do the sliding. One hand leading the other: both slide together.
Breathing
Exhale sliding forward, inhale returning.
