Stability Ball Single-Leg Squat

The wall squat on one leg with a stability ball behind the back; the ball rolls along the wall and holds the balance.

How to do it

Setup

Ball between the lower back and the wall, on one leg, the other leg out front.

Steps

  1. Squat until the standing thigh is near parallel.
  2. Hold the free leg level with the knee.
  3. Drive back up, keeping the back on the ball.

Common mistakes

Foot too close to the wall: step it out so the knee stays over the ankle. Hips twisting toward the free leg: keep them square. Dropping fast: let the ball roll down slowly.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
