Side Bend (On Stability Ball)
Lying sideways over a stability ball, lift the torso off its curve; the ball lets the top side start from a stretch.
How to do it
Setup
Hip and waist on the ball, legs long and staggered or feet braced on a wall, hands behind the head.
Steps
- Let the torso drape sideways over the ball.
- Lift the top shoulder toward the hip, bending only at the waist.
- Lower back over the ball; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Feet sliding and the ball rolling away: stagger the feet wider or brace them on a wall. Rolling onto the belly or the back: stay side-on over the ball. Pulling the head with the hands: they rest; the waist lifts.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
