Resistance Band Shoulder Adduction

Standing beside a flat loop anchored high, the straight arm is pulled down from shoulder height to the thigh against the band.

How to do it

Setup

Standing side-on to the anchor, the loop in the near hand, arm straight out to the side at shoulder height.

Steps

  1. Pull the straight arm down to the thigh.
  2. Hold the arm at the side for a beat.
  3. Let it rise back to shoulder height slowly.

Common mistakes

Bending the elbow to shorten the lever: the arm stays straight. Leaning away from the band: stand tall. Letting the band snap the arm up: control the return.

Breathing

Exhale pulling down, inhale letting the arm rise.
